White House Won’t Get Involved with “Deport Justin Bieber” Petition
The White House has officially announced what it plans to do with the “Deport Justin Bieber” petition. Absolutely nothing!
The petition to deport Justin Bieber and have his green card revoked was started in January when he was arrested and charged with DUI. The petition attained around 275,000 signatures from people in the United States.
Although calls were made to President Barack Obama to rescind Bieber’s green card, the White issued this statement: Thanks for your petition and your participation in “We the People”. Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one.”
The statement also said the White House would leave it up to others to handle the 20-year-old singer’s case, but that they were happy people were interested in immigration issues because the present system is failing.
According to the White House statement, independent economists feel immigration reform will increase the economy and reduce the deficits by nearly $1 trillion over the next 20 years. If you want to know, that’s about 12.5 billion concert tickets.
The statement ended with “You Better Believe It”, which is a reference to a “Belieber” term dedicated teen fans use for Bieber.
Bieber is in the country, working and living, with a renewable visa.
Kelly Osbourne has chimed in saying all teenagers make mistakes, acting out and learning from them. They can’t learn from them if someone is always trying to fix the damage. She said Bieber needs to be given a bit of a break.
