Survey: UK Best Place To Do Shopping In Europe
The best place to shop in Europe is Britain. That’s according to information from the most recent EuroTrack survey from YouGov. The survey keeps tabs on public opinion from the following countries: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden and the UK.The survey’s results come on the heels of the official figures that showed Britain doubled its economic growth since the beginning of 2013. And, a report from the Center for Economics and Business Research and YouGov show that consumer confidence is at a very high level; something not seen since early 2010.
Respondents were asked to pick three countries in Europe, with one-third saying the UK was the place to go for shopping (32 percent); France and Italy came in second at 20 percent.
Spain, Italy and France were dubbed the best places for holidaymakers.
According to the survey, Spain, Greece and Italy were the best places to visit for some nice weather. For food, Italy ranked number one, France and Spain closely followed. For good times, Spain was the number one choice; Greece and Italy were also noted as places to go for parties and socialization. The best place to do some sightseeing is Italy with France and the UK coming in close behind. To learn a new language, Spain, the UK and France were chosen.
Joe Twyman, YouGov’s director of Political and Social Research, said the fact Europeans regard the United Kingdom as being the best place to go for shopping is another small sign toward the country’s economic recovery.
