Second Duggar Daughter Weds Long-Time Fiancé Derick Dillard
Jill Duggar, one of the children from TLC’s hit show “19 and Counting”, recently married her fiancé in a church ceremony. Wearing a beaded dress with a white, cap-sleeve V-neck lace and a veil that fell to her elbows, Duggar and Derick Dillard were wed at the Cross Church, located in Springdale, Arkansas.
The happy couple was surrounded by family and friends, which included Duggar’s 18 brothers and sisters, and about 1,000 other guests. Two brothers were groomsmen and five sisters were bridesmaids. A niece and other sisters served as the flower girls, while five of her brothers were ushers and both a nephew and brother shared the responsibility of being a ring-bearer.
Just after the ceremony, the Dillard couple kissed for the first time ever. They stuck to their conservative religious philosophy of no intimacy before marriage. The Duggar’s family views on dating means no handholding until a marriage commitment is made and no kissing until the couple is married. The Duggars always made sure their children’s dates were chaperoned.
The wedding gift registry of the couple was quite original:
- Tape measure
- Cereal (Fruit Loops, Cookies and Cream, Malt-O-Meal Fruity Dyno Bites Cereal, Malt-O-Meal Berry Colossal Crunch and Raisin Brain)
- Neon duct tape
- Rifle, shotgun and ammunition
- Lint remover
- Gift cards (Olive Garden, Buffalo Wild Wings, Subway, Burger King and many more)
Jill Duggar is the second daughter of both Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who have a total of 19 children and star in “19 and Counting”. At 47 years of age, Michelle doesn’t see any more children being born into the family by her. However, she does feel that if a child was sent to her, it would be a gift.
The next family marriage will be from 21-year-old Jessa who is currently courting Ben Seewald.
