North Carolina Man Eats At Olive Garden For Six Weeks
According to conventional wisdom, it’s important to have a diet that’s full of variety in order to have good health. However, a North Carolina man decided to throw out this wisdom and stick to the same restaurant for six weeks.
Alan Martin, who is a pastor in Burlington, was one of 1,000 people who took advantage of Olive Garden’s seven-week $100 “Pasta Pass”. The pass is set to expire on Nov. 9. The average sit down for him was a $1.
And, although he lost a lot in the way of variety, he can be happy with the fact that he saved a lot of money. To date, he has eaten more than $1,500 worth of pasta, bread and salad with his choice of drinks.
As he ate, he said he didn’t believe he could this kind of food every day. Martin said part of the reason for the Olive Garden gluttony is that he wanted to be the person who consumed the most food out of the 1,000 people.
The Olive Garden menu, which includes meals like Lasagna Fritta, which is fried Parmesan breaded lasagna pieces that is topped with Alfredo sauce and more Parmesan and marinara sauce. Most of the food on the menu are not very light in calories, fat or carbohydrates.
And, despite this, Martin has not put on any significant weight although he consumed roughly 100,000 calories on the seven weeks pass.
Martin said when the pasta marathon is over, he does look forward to eating something else like a hamburger.
