Martin Releases Chapter From Sixth “A Game Of Thrones” Book
Author George R.R. Martin has finally released a chapter titled “Winds of Winters” from the “A Song of Fire and Ice” sixth book, keeping Game of Thrones fans engaged as the show inches even closer to the season debut.
“A Game of Thrones” was first released in 1996, making Martin, 70, one of history’s best sold authors. When HBO decided to create a show in 2011 based on the book, its fan base grew exponentially. However, the popularity has also come with backlash.
Since 2009, Martin has had to release spoilers and small chapters to keep his fans engaged between the new releases. Fans almost turned on Martin when he did not release the fifth book quick enough. Websites were developed and alleged Martin was lazy and didn’t care about his fans.
Anxiety over getting a finished series (7 books total) is high because of Martin’s age and his weight. Fans are worried the series will be left incomplete.
