FBI Investigating Leak Of Several Celebrity Nude Photos

The Federal Bureau of Investigations has begun its investigation into the leaked nude pictures that targeted actresses Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence.

According to the agency, it was investigating accusations that celebrities’ Internet accounts were hacked and nude pictures were released online.

Natalie Kerris, a spokeswoman for Apple, said the company was looking into the possibility that iCloud accounts had been hacked and compromised.

Representatives for both actresses issued statements saying the authorities would prosecute any person who posts the stolen pictures. Both side the hacking is an outrageous violation of their clients’ privacy and duplicating the illegally-obtained photos would be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Along with Lawrence and Upton, there were other actresses in the leak including

• Mary Elizabeth Winstead – Final Destination
• Kirsten Dunst
• Ariana Grande
• Victoria Justice

Justice used Twitter to emphatically deny the nude pictures circulating were of her. She said the nude photos are actually fake people.

Winstead berated the people who looked at her pictures, saying the pictures were taken for her husband a long time ago in the privacy of their home. She said she hopes whoever looks at the photos like themselves.

Dunst also took to Twitter, tweeting three little words, “Thank you iCloud”. This leads to suggestion that there had been a leak in the images.

None of the pictures have been verified.

According to the AP, the FBI is looking at allegations regarding computer intrusions and the hacking of material unreleased by the high-profile people of them. They are aggressively handling the situation.

Spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said there would be no comment until further notice.

After the pictures showed up, Web magazine Engadget reported Apple fixed a bug that could let hackers access people’s iCloud accounts, which could have led to the leak of the celebrities’ nude pictures.

Engadget, which is a web magazine that deals with technology and consumer electronics, said the Find my iPhone software was noted to have vulnerabilities that let hackers try various passwords until ones gives them access.
