Domestic Violence Suspect Shot By Police In California Movie Theater
“Les Miserables” moviegoers at the Reading Cinemas Camel Mountain in San Diego ducked and crawled for cover and exits after police located an armed domestic violence suspect and shot and wounded him.
Two officers were going from theater to theater, looking for Escondido resident Tom Billodeaux. He was found in a theater where he was sitting with 15 other moviegoers, trying to blend in. When approached, the 20-year-old Billodeaux appeared to cooperate by raising his hands. However, he started to lower them to his lap, raised a handgun and pointed it toward the officer.
The 18-month veteran officer shot Billodeaux in his arm and chest. He was taken to an area hospital and is suspected to survive his wounds. Police said once released from the hospital, he’ll be taken into custody and booked into the county jail.
According to police Lt. Ernie Herbert, nobody else was injured or harmed in the incident. The domestic violence victim was also uninjured in the first incident.
