Chrysler and GM to Hire 1,000 Engineers and Researchers
Things are starting to look great for Chrysler and General Motors and for the country’s employment industry as two of the companies are announcing their move to hire 1,000 engineers and researchers. The two automobile companies have almost died the past year and was a subject to several government bailouts. But the hiring’s are now great signs of recovery which is also great news to job hunters in the country.
General Motors’ hiring is set to commence immediately and will run through a two year period. They are looking for scientists and engineers to work on product development for their next generation electric vehicles. Chrysler on the other hand will be hiring during the next four months. The company is looking for personnel and additional workers to help aid their expansion as demand for their small and midsize vehicle are increasing.
The two companies have indeed gone far compared to the past years performance where both have declared bankruptcy. Currently, Chrysler is now narrowing down its losses with lower labor costs and lesser debt under their name. General Motors in the other hand is slowly generating income and getting back on the playing field.
General Motors formally announced its hiring during a ceremony where the company launched and delivered their first ever Chevrolet Volt rechargeable electric cars to the market. The ceremony as led by GM CEO Dan Atkinson. The very first Chevrolet Volt was released in the market with a $41,000 “close to cost” price.
Anderson was the one who spearheaded the production of rechargeable electric cars in their Detroit factory. According to him, this is one important step in ending the world’s dependency on oil and fossil fuels. And General Motors is aiming to be at the forefront of this move. Currently, there are over 200,000 inquiries on their rechargeable car and the company is now planning to increase their production rates to meet the coming demands.
