Authorities Search For Missing 5-Day Old Wisconsin Baby Boy
Police are still searching for a missing 5-day-old infant who went missing from his bassinette in Beloit, Wisconsin.
The last time anyone saw Kayden Powell before his 18-year-old mother woke up at 4:30 a.m. to discover him missing was 1:30 a.m.
40 officers including federal investigators have joined on the search and are working the case. As of now, there are no identifiable suspects and arrests have not been made.
Brianna Marshall, the mother, and the father, Bruce Powell, 23, stayed at the Beloit home. Steven Kopp, police chief of Town of Beloit said the parents have been extremely cooperative and investigators have been interviewing people in the home Wednesday night.
Police said one woman who left the home around 1:30 a.m. Thursday has been questioned but is not considered a person of interest in the disappearance. Kopp said the woman visited the home Wednesday evening and headed back to Colorado early Thursday morning. Authorities said the woman was taken into custody on an unrelated Texas warrant.
Kopp said there’s no reason to believe this is a custody dispute-related disappearance. He also said no Amber Alert was issued because the circumstances surrounding the disappearance do not meet the conditions.
About 7,700 people living the Town of Beloit, which lies about 50 miles south of Madison, close to the Illinois border.
