Apple to Release the iPad Pro Early Next Year
For most of the last few months, Apple news has been centered on the release date of the new iPhone model. With that news being made somewhat public right now, those that seek the latest news on the hottest product line in the mobile world are not worried about a new rumor. That rumor is pointing to the fact that Apple could be getting ready to release a brand new iPad, in a brand new size. For the most part, Apple has not talked about a larger iPad, but consumers would like to see a “pro” version of one of them. The iPad Pro is rumored to be coming to the marketplace in the early part of next year and it will also come with a larger, 13-inch display according to reports. That would add quite a bit of size compared to the 9.7-inch iPad Air models we see today.
The fact that the details about the new iPad are getting online, but have not been acknowledged by Apple at this time, leads some to believe it might just be consumers’ impressions on what to expect next from Apple. The iPhone 6 is to be released on the 9th of September according to speculation and the press invites that were sent out. According to one source, Apple has been working closely with suppliers for about one year now in order to get parts lined up for the larger iPad Pro model. Numbers that have been reported this year show that tablet sales for Apple have fallen over the last two quarters and that has been blamed on lack of new models. Apple CEO, Tim Cook is looking to shake up the tablet market and this would be a good way of doing so.
Apple tablet sales are currently second to the iPhone in the United States market. Suppliers have started to produce parts for the update model of the 9.7-inch version of the iPad, which could be the iPad Air 2. If that is the case, consumers can expect to see an updated version of the iPad Mini as well. It didn’t seem like it was that long ago that the tablet market was supposed to be booming because many of today’s consumers were switching over to a tablet rather than buying a new PC or laptop. Smartphones that have larger displays have also given way to the smaller tablet market, but one report indicates that PC sales do not look as bad as they were once reported. Apple has been working with IBM with hopes of developing a larger model of the iPad that can be marketed to businesses.
One researcher claims that sales growth for tablets might have slowed for now, but he is projecting that businesses, governments and schools will be adapting them more in the near future. Those three groups accounted for 16 percent of the tablets sales in the second quarter alone, which is up 3 percent from last year. Apple is hoping that larger tablets will do better and raise that even more.
