All-new Ford Explorer jumps ahead on the safety curve
Every driver knows the feeling. You enter a curve too quickly, and suddenly the sense of being out of control takes you to the edge. To address this, Ford is introducing its new Curve Control technology – designed to help drivers maintain control of their vehicles when taking a curve too quickly. Curve Control rapidly reduces engine torque and applies four-wheel braking to slow the vehicle by up to 10 mph in about a second. It debuts as standard equipment on the 2011 Explorer coming later this year, and will be offered on 90 percent of Ford’s North American crossovers, sport utilities, trucks and vans by 2015. more…

2011 Super Duty a welcome houseguest
Already, customers just can’t get enough Super Duty. The power, performance, fuel economy and capability of the 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty have been so impressive that companies employing preproduction versions have asked for the test program to be extended. This unprecedented program, where select fleet customers deploy preproduction models of diesel-powered Super Duty pickups as part of their regular vehicle team, now will continue into the winter. One tank, 1,457 laps: Ford Mustang takes fuel economy to new levels
The 2011 Ford Mustang, which made history as the first car to deliver more than 30 mpg and 305 horsepower, has set a new record by running 1,457 laps at Bristol Motor Speedway while averaging 48.5 mpg. With fuel-efficient driving techniques by Ford engineers, Mustang far surpassed its goal of 1,000 laps in the Mustang 1,000-Lap Challenge, designed to demonstrate a stock production Mustang V6 could run 533 miles on a single tank of gas. more…
