What Smartphone Buyers Could Expect To See With The Samsung Galaxy S8
The 2017 Mobile World Congress will soon take place and technology enthusiasts are waiting anxiously to learn what the newest available gadgets are going to be. One of the most anticipated devices is Samsung’s Galaxy 8 – the company’s flagship smartphone and the successor to the popular S7, which was released last year.
Rumors have been circulating that Samsung will make an announcement about its S8 during the event, which begins Feb. 27.
Images were leaked online and Samsung has now released video showing a new AMOLED panel, with the ending of the video hinting at a new smartphone with appearance closely matching the photos previously leaked online.
It’s believed the South Korean tech company will offer some enticing features that will pique customers’ interest. What are some of the things that customers could see on the Samsung Galaxy 8?
Display
It’s believed the company is going for a curved look for its display, which means the S8 could have the wraparound OLED 5.5-inch 4K display. This is an increase consumers may want, as the S7 is just 5.1-inches with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels.
RAM and Processor
The S8 is rumored to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, with the international model being installed with the Exynos 8895 chip. The RAM of the S8 may either be 6GB or 8GB – either way; it’s an increase from the 4GB seen with the S7.
Camera
The S7 has a primary 12MP camera. On the S8, the phone may have a dual-camera setup – 16MP for one end, 8MP for the other.
Battery
Since the Galaxy Note 7 battery issue blew up in Samsung’s faces, the company may use LG to address the S8’s battery – a better one than the S7 and won’t involve exploding problems like the Note 7 had.
Price and Release
The S8 is bound to be more expensive than the S7, by as much as 20 percent. That’s the word from Goldman Sachs. The possible release date for the Galaxy S8 is April 21, and it’s thought that five million phones will be manufactured.
Other Possible Upgrades
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is likely to have an array of other features like Bixby, the personal assistant. It’s also believed to include the iris scanner, Harman Stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.0 and wireless in-ear headphones. It’s also not likely to come with a home button.
If the rumors are true about what the Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to include, it’s looking good for Android smartphone users. And, there’s also the possibility the company would create a 256GB model for consumers to clamor over.
