Prairie Farms Offers 3 New Milks Using Marshmallow Peeps Flavors
Easter isn’t that far off, and this means everyone’s favorite marshmallow – shaped like a chick – will hit the shelves.
Peeps fans this year have another product they can try: Peeps-flavored milk.
The limited edition milk will be available in three flavors: Easter Egg Nog, Chocolate Marshmallow Milk and Marshmallow Milk. It’s currently available in the Midwest market.
Noelle Porcoro, Peeps senior brand manager, said the marshmallows are an iconic part of the springtime and Easter season. The product’s enjoyment goes beyond eating the cute little treats. A partnership with Prairie Farms, the leader in dairy products, has helped the company to bring fans another way to satisfy their Peep addiction – through dairy.
It’s certainly a treat with a significant amount of sugar added to it: 37 grams per one cup a serving.
A spokeswoman with Peeps said the company looks at the Prairie Farms Peeps milk should be seen as a treat, but is still loaded with nine important nutrients and eight grams of protein. While it does contain additional sugar, 11 grams of that sugar is found in lactose milk naturally.
Prairie Farms has a recipe contest that involves at least one product and any kind of Peeps marshmallow treat, that the new milk would combine into one. The contest runs from March 9 to April 5 with weekly and daily prizes being awarded.
