3 Dead, 1 Injured In Overland Park, Ks. Shooting At Frequent Jewish Locations
Three people are dead and another injured when someone opened fire at a Jewish retirement home and community center in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City, Ks.
Police in Overland Park are in the process of questioning a suspect after the shooting took place around 1 p.m. at Village Shalom, a retirement home near Overland Park and at the suburb’s Jewish Community Center.
Police apprehended the suspect at a nearby local elementary school. As he was being taken away by police, he allegedly yelled, “Heil Hitler”.
Police descended on the residential area after the shootings, locking both the retirement home and community center down.
The shots rang out on the Jewish Community Center’s west side, as high school singers from the Kansas City area were auditioning for the KC SuperStar contest and actors rehearsed for “To Kill A Mockingbird”.
Overland Park is 11 miles south of main KCK.
