2 Charged, Including Mother, In Pennsylvania’s Boy’s Tortured Death
A three-year-old Pennsylvania toddler was brutally tortured and killed by his mother and her lover. Chester County authorities have charged the couple with murder.
The prosecutor said the couple was carrying out an “American horror story” scenario where a child was hung upside down and beaten using an aluminum strip.
Scott McMillian was found in his West Caln Township trailer dead on Tuesday. The little boy shared the trailer with his mother Jillian Tait, Gary Fellenbaum, her boyfriend, and Amber Fellenbaum, Gary’s wife. Amber found Scott dead and called 911.
Tom Hogan, district attorney for Chester County, said ER nurses see terrible things all the time, but when they saw Scott’s body, they cried. His body was covered with cuts, bruises and puncture wounds, and his brain had bled as well.
Hogan said he would ask the court for the death penalty against the boy’s mother and her boyfriend. And, even though Amber Fellenbaum was not involved with the ritualistic torture, she did not say anything until the child died. Therefore, prosecutors have charged her with child endangerment.
According to authorities, Scott was strung up by his feet and taped to a chair. He was hit repeatedly with an aluminum strip and curtain rod. He was also hit with a homemade whip and fists were used to beat him. Ryan, his six-year-old brother, was also beaten and abused but lived. He is currently in a Delaware hospital.
Amber Fellenbaum has an 11-month old daughter who was not harmed and is currently in the social services’ custody. Although Amber and Gary are getting divorced, the couple lived with Jillian and her kids in the trailer.
According to a statement made by Jillian, she and Gary repeatedly beat the boys as they were strung up upside down. They targeted Scott on Sunday, hitting him and throwing him against walls. When he didn’t want to eat breakfast on Monday, Gary got made and threw him against another wall. The couple put him in the shower to revive him and then put him to bed.
The next day, the couple bound his legs and arms with tape to a chair and beat him until he went flaccid. The couple told Ryan to also hit the child.
Afterwards, they put Scott to bed while they went shopping for a car and had lunch. They came home and took a nap. When he was found not breathing, he was also bleeding from his ears and nose.
